Marsha Sue White was born on December 1, 1952, in Williamsburg, Iowa, the daughter of George and Rita (Costello) Stahl.

Marsha graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1971. She was active in school activities, part of the homecoming court, and marching band. Marsha’s senior year she proudly led the marching band as the majorette and was excited to twirl her flaming baton.

Her life’s journey took her through Wellman, Iowa City, and Newton before returning home to Williamsburg for retirement. Marsha’s career path was as vibrant as she was - after attending beauty school, she worked at the Raider Drive Inn in Williamsburg, co-owned and operated Wayside Inn in Kalona, roles at Mid Prairie High School and Duwa’s Auction Service in Wellman, MCI in Iowa City, Iowa Speedway in Newton, Mercy Hospital in Des Moines and in recent years Mercy Services in Williamsburg. A devoted community member, Marsha volunteered for Meals on Wheels and an active member of the Iburg Poulson VFW Post #8797 Auxiliary.

Marsha married Michael Driscoll in 1974 having 4 wonderful children together. Marsha met her soul mate and was united in marriage to Michael White in August 2003 in Linby, Iowa. Together they shared a passion for gardening, travel and most of all family.

Marsha was known for her infectious laugh, warm smile and ability to bring people together. She enjoyed hosting parties, catering, and her love for celebrating holidays, birthdays and special events ensured those around her always felt cherished. Marsha was a devoted fan and loved going to sporting events to support her children, nieces/nephews, grandchildren and great nieces/nephews.

Marsha died Sunday, May 11, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City at the age of 72 years. She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and joy that will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by her children, Carisa Driscoll (Jeff), Larry Driscoll (Leah), Cameron Driscoll (Stacey) and Keelan Driscoll (Mindy Mae); grandchildren Victoria, Elleh, Keely, Donovan, Davion, Dantavious, Akira, Adilyn, Chloe; 3 great grandchildren, Sofia, Greyson and Ava. Her siblings, Sheri (Garth) Wetjen, Gary (Judy) Stahl, Barb (Dennis) Grauer, Lori (Tom) Beemer, Stuart (Pam) Stahl, and Michelle (Doug) Sims. She is preceded in death by her husband Michael White, parents George and Rita Stahl, and a sister LouAnn Martinson.

A tribute service will be 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at St. Mary's Hall in Williamsburg.  Visitation will begin following the service from 3:30 to 6:00 pm.  A memorial fund has been established for the Iburg Poulson VFW Post #8797 Auxiliary.  Powell Funeral  Home in Williamsburg is caring for Marsha and her family.  Messages and tributes may be directed to www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
