KEOTA-Marvin J. Greiner, age 73, of Keota, died Sunday, May 10, 2026, at the Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney.

Marvin was born July 25, 1952, in Washington, Iowa, to Everett F. and Mary Margaret (Redlinger) Greiner and graduated from Keota High School in 1970. He then served in the Army Reserves. On February 28, 1987, he married Deborah Clark at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Clear Creek Township. The couple lived and farmed south of Keota He was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, the Knights of Columbus, Farmer’s Co-op Board, Clear Creek Heritage Association and served as a 4-H leader. Marvin enjoyed spending time with family and friends, being in the field, checking crops, camping and going to the Iowa State Fair. Marvin also enjoyed keeping “busy” keeping tabs on the neighboring farmers, who were all lifelong friends and confidants, watching the grain markets, hauling the crop to town and staying in touch with the local salesmen – always looking for the next deal.

Survivors include his wife: Deb of Keota; son: Wesley Greiner of Keota; daughter: Tenley Greiner of Keota; 10 siblings: Earl (Tanya) Greiner of Richland, Barbara Warnke of Navarre, Florida, John (Ann) Greiner of Keota, Dean (Debra) Greiner of Brighton, Jean (Dick) Haifley of Keota, Milo (Denise) Greiner of Keota, Myron (Karen) Greiner of Richland, Steve (Becky) Greiner of Richland, Leslie (Candy) Greiner of Keota and Nancy (Thomas) Weber of Keswick; brother-in-law: Craig Buehnneman of Sigourney; sister-in-law: Melody Hackett of Quincy, Illinois; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son: Travis Greiner; sisters: Shirley Buehneman and Lisa Greiner and brother-in-law: Jim Warnke.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Ss. Peter and Paul Church of Clear Creek, with Dan Redlinger officiating. It will also be live streamed on the Powell Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will be at Holy Trinity Cemeteries - Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
