Mary Kay Race

Mary Kay Race, age 57, of Marengo, passed away Friday, December 1, 2017 at Compass Memorial Hospital, Marengo. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at Bishop Cemetery, rural Marengo, with Rev. Eddie Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m., Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.

Mary is survived by her mom Rose Frondle; three siblings Nancy (Dan) Yerington of Wilton, Robert Frondle of Williamsburg and Sally Frondle of Marengo. She was preceded in death by her father Robert and a brother David, both in 1999.

Mary Race was born November 11, 1960, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Rose Starkweather Frondle. She graduated from West High School in 1980. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, and loved to watch sports on tv. Mary enjoyed embroidery, knitting, collecting unicorns, Christmas decorations and angels. She especially loved family get togethers.
