Mary D Miller

Mary D. Miller, daughter of Dennis J. and Ida (Helmuth) Miller, was born on March 5, 1923, in Kalona, IA. She died at her home in rural Kalona, following a short illness on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at the age of 99 years and 8 days.  In her youth she was baptized and became a member of the Old Order Amish Church, where she was a faithful member at the time of her death.

Of her 10 siblings, 4 sisters and 1 brother-in-law survive. Emma, (Mrs. Chriss Swartzentruber) Costa Rica, Bertha, (Mrs. Raymond Brenneman) Kalona, IA, Lavina (Nelson) Hochstedler, Winona Lake, IN, and faithful caretakers Elsie, (Mrs. Amos T. Miller), Nelda, Rachel, Floyd, Miriam and family of the home. Also surviving are 40 nieces and nephews, and 8 step nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Dennis and Ida. 3 sisters, Verna Weaver, Amelia Miller, and Eunice Stutzman, and 3 brothers, Rudy D., Simon D., and Jonas D. Miller and 1 nephew Marlin Dale Miller.

The family thanks everyone for the acts of kindness shown to them during this time of loss.

A Funeral Service will be held 9:30 am Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at the Floyd Miller Residence 5447 Gable Ave, Kalona. Burial will be held in the East Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm and 7:00 to 8:00pm and Tuesday from 10:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 7:00 pm at the Floyd Miller Residence. Yoder-Powell Funeral Home is caring for Mary and her family.
