Mattie L Miller

Kalona- Mattie L. (Yoder) Miller was born on September 10, 1932, near Arthur IL to Levi D. and Elizabeth (Hochstedler) Yoder. Upon her confession of faith, she was baptized in the Old Order Amish Church and remained faithful until her death on

March 1, 2022. On October 17, 1957, she was united in marriage to Ezra Jay Miller. God blessed them with 64 years of wedded life until his death on December 15, 2021.

 

She leaves to mourn her departure a son, Melvin Richard of Wellman and wife Alicia of Kalona; a daughter, Rosetta Arlene Miller of Kalona; 2 grandchildren, Mattie Anne and Jonathan Richard Miller; 3 brothers, Joe and Rebecca Yoder, Andrew and Viola Yoder and Henry and Ruby Yoder; a sister, Fannie and Allen Miller; a sister-in-law, Rosa Yoder and care taker her nephew Laban and Melva Miller and family.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband Ezra Jay, a brother Melvin Yoder and a sister Edna and a brother-in-law Jonas Herschberger.

 

The Family would like to give a sincere thank you to everyone for their help, food and support in this time.

 

 

A Funeral Service will be held 9:30 am Friday, March 4, 2022 at the Laban Miller Residence 2094 540th Street, Kalona, Iowa. Burial will be in the Brenneman Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm and Thursday from 10:00 to 8:00 pm at the Laban Miller Residence. Yoder-Powell Funeral Home is caring for Mattie and her family.
