Max Edward Breniman, age 80, of Montezuma, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines. Funeral service: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m., until service time. Burial will be in the Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery, with military honors. Memorials can be contributed to the family.
Max is survived by his wife Delores; three children, John Breniman, of Montezuma, Deb (Michael) Olesen, of Elkhart and Amy Breniman of Bondurant; two sisters Pat (Leon) Rowell, of Montezuma and Betty (Gary) Tice, of Lynnville; two grandchildren, Kane Olesen, of Cedar Falls and Kelsey (Nick) Jerrel, of Maysville, Missouri; and three great-grandchildren, Brooklynn, Taylor and Jeremiah. He is preceded in death by his parents Wallace and Anna Breniman.
Max was born December 31, 1940, in Grinnell, the son of Wallace and Anna (Otto) Breniman. He graduated from Montezuma High School in 1959. Max served in the U.S Army from 1962-1964. He was united in marriage to Delores Schaeffer in August 1961. Max worked for Poweshiek County, Montezuma Elevator, Cargill and most recently, Economy Forms (EFCO) as an over the road, truck driver. As long as Max had a steering wheel in his hand, he was happy.
