Meagan Rodgers

Millersburg- Meagan Sue Rodgers was born January 2, 1988, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Phillip and Kristy (Goben) Rodgers. She attended English Valleys High School graduating with the class of 2006. She went to Kaplan University to earn her Associates Degree and worked at Planned Parenthood and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics as a Certified Medical Assistant. She enjoyed singing (at the Iowa State Fair Bill Riley Stage and Share the Fun), being in 4-H (showing her pigs) and spending time with her family.  She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Grace Brethren Church. Meagan passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics at the age of 34.

She is survived by her parents Phillip and Kristy Rodgers; two sisters Christin Rodgers of Millersburg and Tiffany Rodgers of Iowa City; grandfather Glen Goben (Sandy Brecht) of Marengo; grandmother Karen Wieggen (Steve) of Cedar Rapids; aunts and uncles, Susan McCeary-Bain (Steven) of Cedar Rapids, Kirk Goben (Lea Ann Cook-Seiber of Greenfield, MO, Kevin Goben (Rachel) of West Branch, Karey Covington (Kyle) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Mindy Evans Dalbom of Neosho, MO and Carolyn Rodgers of Williamsburg; and a boyfriend Jeremy.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Norma and Doug Rodgers, uncles Charles and Jonathan Rodgers and an aunt Linda in infancy.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 am Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg.  A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00  pm Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg.  A  memorial fund has been established for Iowa County 4-H or the Diabetes  Association.
