Walford-Melissa Marie Thompson Clark was born August 13, 1980 in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Paul Thompson and Donna Clark Thompson. She graduated from Ankeny High School in 1998 and attended the University of Iowa and DMACC in Ankeny. Melissa has lived in a number of places, most recently in Williamsburg, Cedar Rapids and Walford. She was working for Kelly Temp. Services in Cedar Rapids. Melissa died Friday, June 4, 2004 in an auto accident in Walford at the age of 23 years. She is survived by her parents: Paul Thompson and Donna Thompson both of Marengo; two brothers: Mike Thompson of New Sharon and Scott Thompson of Ankeny; nieces and nephews: Manda, Alex, Anna, Aaron and Ella; and a special friend Dan Gebert of Walford. Melissa is preceded in death by her grandparents. Celebration of Life Service will be Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg. Rev Edwin Jordan will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Williamsburg. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 8 PM at the Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home.
