Michael Allen Drafahl

Michael Allen Drafahl was born June 13, 1968, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Clifford and Barbara (Landers) Drafahl. He attended Washington High School in Cedar Rapids. Michael was a mechanic at the Cedar Rapids Bowling Center. Michael enjoyed attending air shows, anything sci-fi, his cats, and spending time with his grandson. To communicate his passionate personality would require too many words, mostly expletives; instead, we will say Michael was an interesting and interested man. He was passionate about social justice issues and loved to learn. He was very loved by his family.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara Himmelsbach of Amana; daughter, Stacia (Aaron) Stonerook of Iowa City; grandson, Felix; his cats, Templeton and Sylvia; his best friend (Stacia’s mom) Amy McLeod of Cedar Rapids along with her daughter Sophia McLeod. He was preceded in death by his father, grandma Nadine Hart, and his beloved pets, Tiger, Simba, Bella, Maisie and LeeLoo. Please give your pets some extra love in his memory.
