Keota- Naoma Fern Houser was born July 15, 1934, near North English, Iowa. She was a daughter of Lecil Ray and Naoma Fern (Moore) Greenlee. She attended Berry Country School and later North English High School. On April 9, 1955, Naoma was united in marriage to Robert Merrill Houser at the Methodist Church in Mercer, Missouri. They lived all over while Robert was in the service including England, Florida and Iowa- Marengo, North English and Keota. She worked for the US Government as a secretary and in the accounting department. Naoma was a member of the Methodist Church. She enjoyed anything with the US Navy, reading, traveling with Robert and spending time with friends. Naoma died on Friday, January 30, 2026, at the English Valley Care Center, at the age of 91 years.
She is survived by great nieces & nephews Mariea Greenlee, Michael Greenlee, Angel Martinson and Brian Fischer; and numerous great, great nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents; husband; brothers Harold Greenlee and Glenn Greenlee; an infant sister Opal Louise Greenlee; two nephews Mark (Charline) Greenlee and Alan (Kathy) Greenlee; a great nephew Richard Greenlee; and a great niece Patricia Moxley.
A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm, at the Powell Funeral Home in North English. Burial will be held at a later date in the Bellefountaine Cemetery in Tracy, Iowa. A general memorial fund has been established. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
