Naomi Jean Konicek

Clutier-Naomi Jean Konicek was born June 10, 1944, in Birmingham, Ohio, the daughter of Ralph and Margret (Myers) Shipman. She attended Birmingham Country School. Naomi was a cosmetologist and in her later years she was a school cook. Naomi was united in marriage to William Konicek on June 19, 1965, to this union they were blessed with three children. They later divorced, but remained close friends. Naomi grew up in Ohio, moved to Clutier, IA in 1968 and most recently to Williamsburg in 2021. Naomi was wonderful at baking, especially her kolaches. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Naomi passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Highland Ridge Care Center at the age of 79 years.

She is survived by three children Kelly (Kirk) Fink of Marshalltown, Jim (Kim) Konicek of Williamsburg and Lori Tyler of Newton; six grandchildren Ashley (Luke) Riley of Clutier, Aaron (Mercedes) Fink of Clutier, Amber Fink of Marshalltown, Joshua Konicek (Sydney Schmuecker) of Marengo, Macy Konicek of Williamsburg and Caleb Lacina of Williamsburg; 5 great grandchildren Kasie, Kaylee, Kortni, Ian and Levi; siblings Donald “Gene” (Barbara) Shipman and Edward “Ed” (Eunice) Shipman and her sister-in-law, Judy Shipman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Clea Anna (Roger) Helmlinger, Sandra Shipman, Willard “Sonny” Shipman, Audrey (Jerry) Dyer and Kenny Shipman.
