Pamela Bender

Wellman - Pamela M. Spinner Snitker Bender was born January 22, 1950, in Waukon, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Alice (Smedsrud) Spinner. She graduated from Postville High School in 1968. On April 19, 1969, she was united in marriage to Gorman Snitker in Postville, Iowa. Pam and Gorman were blessed with two children, Amy and Jason. Gorman passed away on July 31, 1987. On September 15, 1989, Pam was united in marriage to Carl Bender in Wellman, Iowa. Pam worked at Southeast Iowa Insurance in Wellman for 27 years, as a bookkeeper and licensed agent. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Pam enjoyed puzzles, ceramics, country line dancing, golfing, quilting and spending time with her grandchildren. She was also passionate about the Decorah Eagles, spending time as a chat moderator for the Raptor Resource Project's Decorah Eagles Chat. Pam passed away Friday, June 13, 2025, at her home in Wellman at the age of 75 years.Pamela is survived by her husband Carl, her two children; Amy (Travis) Botine of Central City, Iowa and Jason Snitker of Clive, Iowa, two grandchildren Brookelyn and Bradyn Botine and sister Lynn (John) O’Hara of Lansing, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gorman, and an infant sister Rae Ellen

Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wellman. Burial will be at the Frankville Cemetery, Frankville, Iowa. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 17, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, starting with a Rosary at 4:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman.
