Peggy Louise Chapman, 93, of Williamsburg, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at the English Valley Nursing Care Center in North English, Iowa.
Peggy was born July 21, 1932, in Bloomfield, Iowa, the daughter of Lowell R and Lucille R (Lippert) Jones. She graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1950. On December 16, 1950, Peggy was united in marriage to Roland Chapman in Centerville, Iowa. In 1952, Roland and Peggy moved to Williamsburg. In 1966, she became a school secretary for the Williamsburg Community School District, where she worked for twenty eight years, retiring in 1994. Peggy was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and a former member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Women. She enjoyed being with family and planting and caring for flowers around her house. Her signature flower was the Red Geranium.
She is survived by her sons Steven (Esther) Chapman of Dubuque and Jeffrey (Sue) Chapman of Williamsburg; seven grandchildren Tracy (Andrew) Reif, Rachel Chapman, Erik (Morgan) Chapman, Michael (Erin) Chapman, Brandyn, Justin and Shane Chapman; and 4 great grandchildren Mary Reif, , Eleanor, Conrad, and Quinn Chapman.. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Donald Jones, sister-in-law Carol Jones; and Husband Roland Chapman.
Visitation will be on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 10:00 - 11:00 am at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Williamsburg. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be at 2:30 pm on Monday, at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, in Bloomfield, Iowa. Memorials may be given to the St. Paul’s United Methodist Women’s Fund.
