Phay Kavanh

Phay Kavanh, age 83 of Marengo, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Rose Haven Nursing Home following a brief illness. Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 5, 2018, Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, West Liberty.

Phay was born June 5, 1934 in Hanoi, Vietnam, the daughter of Thai Lovan and Noui Lothi. She and Noi Kavanh were married in Laos. The couple came to the United States in 1991. He passed away in 1997. Phay has been a resident of Marengo for the past 10 years. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She passed away on May 2, 2018 at the age of 83 years, 10 months and 26 days.

Phay is survived by her children Samlane Huong, Tae Huong, Sai Tavi, Deng Lovan, Phiene Phonprasith, Aen Thephravong, Chanh Kavanh, Mine Kavanh, May Nane Kavanh and Oraphim Kavanh; three siblings Ean Lovan, Hao Lovan and Oy Lovan; 19 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Thai Lovan and Noui Lothi, her husband Noi Kavanh and a sister Deng Lovan.
