Pheng Keomanivong

Pheng Keomanivong, 94, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died unexpectedly Monday, September 12, 2016, at the Henry County Health Center. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2016, until the time of the funeral service at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be held at 2:30, that same afternoon, at the Memorial Chapel. Following the ceremony cremation will be accorded. Burial will be at a later date in Forest Home Cemetery. On-line condolences may be directed to www.olsonpowell.com. Born March 8, 1922, in Seitantay, Laos, Pheng was the daughter of Poun and Keow Inthavongsa. She married Singthong Keomanivong, who preceded her in death in 2002. A homemaker, Pheng loved being around her family, especially her grandchildren. She liked to sew and mend clothes for her family. She was known to her friends and family as a great cook and used her skills to prepare tasty dishes for family gatherings. Pheng enjoyed going to Watlao Buddhavath Temple in Des Moines, IA. Pheng is survived by one daughter, Bounoum (Souk) Keomanivong of Spiro, OK; four sons, Phomma Keomanivong of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Saykham (Umapone) Keomanivong of Ft. Smith, AR, Chanthanorm (Vipha) Keomanivong of Mt. Pleasant, IA, and Bounlorm (Pook) Keomanivong of Mt. Pleasant, IA; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
