Regina Jones

Kalona- Regina Lee Jones was born July 7, 1944, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Catherine (Frise) Walker. She graduated from Our Lady of Angels in Clinton and Capri Cosmetology school. Regina was a cosmetologist at her business Coiffures Stylist and taught cosmetology school. On April 4, 1964 Regina was united in marriage to Myron A. Jones at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Richmond. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where she held many offices & positions, Idris Club and P. Buckley Moss Society. She enjoyed riding horses, loved to cook, bake and entertain. Regina Passed away Saturday, August 1, 2026 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinic in Iowa City at the age of 82 years.

Regina is survived by her husband Myron, three children; Shawn Jones of Kalona, Brent (Audrey) Jones of Queen Creek, AZ. and Heather (Andrew) Wiles of Kalona, grandchildren: Dustin and Cameron Jones, Brent and Conner Wiles, 2 step grandchildren: Holly Ayala and Dalton Maher. She is preceded in death by her parents; 4 siblings: Tom Walker, Frances Kelley, Margaret Brenneman and Patrick Walker.

Memorial Mass Service will be 11:00 am Friday, August 7, 2026, at Holy Trinity Parish Catholic Church in Richmond. The memorial mass will be live streamed on the Powell Funeral Home website. Private family burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm with Rosary at 3:30 pm at Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona. A memorial fund has been established to the University of Iowa Holden’s Comprehensive Cancer Center and Healthwell Foundation. Messages may be sent to the family at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
