Richard Joseph Chounard

Williamsburg-Richard Joseph Chounard was born February 18, 1982, in Champaign, IL, the son of Richard Sr. and Jo Ann (Birtcher) Chounard.  He graduated from Unity Point High School in Champaign.  He grew up in Illinois, then moved to Colorado before moving to Williamsburg in 2020.  Richard was united in marriage to Laura Sue Hoeft on September 4, 2021, at their home in Williamsburg.  He has worked as an over the road truck driver.  Richard enjoyed rock climbing, playing music, telling a good joke and spending time with his children, family and friends.  Richard died Monday, March 11, 2024 at his home at the age of 42 years.

He is survived by his wife Laura; three children, Olivia, Cloee and Logan Chounard all of Philo, IL; a sister Amanda (Bob) Deedrick of Sadorus, IL and nephew and nieces, Lenny and Audery Deedrick and Cheynne, Izzy and River Hoeft.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be 1:00 pm Saturday, March 30, 2024, at their home 702 Court Street in Williamsburg.
