Richard Ferreira

Williamsburg- Richard "Sarge" Louis Ferreira was born February 13, 1948, in Oakland, CA, the son of Gilbert & Ila Ferreira. He was a member of the United States Army for 25 years, serving as a 1st Sgt. in Recruiting Command. On June 13, 1987, Sarge was united in marriage to Patricia in Nampa, ID. They moved to the Williamsburg area in 1992. After his retirement from the military he worked at Toyota of Iowa City. He enjoyed his trips to Las Vegas, watching football,competing in football pools, He always managed to be the center of attention, no matter what the occasion, and had many friends and associates that respected him. Sarge died on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Marengo Memorial Hospital at the age of 67 years.

He is survived by his wife Patty of Williamsburg; a daughter Gina Nelson of Idaho; a son Brian (Veronica) Ferreira of Kalona and 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
