Robert "Bob" Boshart

Kalona- Robert Dean “Bob” Boshart was born November 30, 1934, in rural Wayland, Iowa, the son of Clair and Lydia (Wyse) Boshart and graduated from Wayland High School in 1953. On October 30, 1955 he was united in marriage to P. Elaine Decker. Bob was a plant manager at Yoder Feed for 25 years and serviced feedmill equipment for Schlagel. Following retirement he drove semi for the Kalona Creamery and Stutsman Transportation. Bob was a member of the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church where he was on the food committee and church superintendent, a member of the American Feed Industry.He was also a 4-H leader. Bob passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at Halcyon House in Washington at the age of 91 years.

Survivors include his wife: Elaine of Kalona; son: Rick (Doris) Boshart of Hazelton, Pennsylvania; three daughters: Teresa (Lonnie) Boshart Yoder of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Lisa (Woo Man Sim) Boshart of Kalona and Angela (Davin) Bernstein of Little Elm, Texas; 11 grandchildren: Sheridan (Chris) Penney, Trent Boshart, Tanner Boshart, Kelton Boshart, Kiana Boshart, Shannon (Brandon) Roth, Nicole Yoder, Gideon Sim, Chaz (Erika) Bernstein, Gemma Bernstein and Zelie Bernstein and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Roy Boshart; sister: Betty Roth; brother-in-law: Owen Roth and sister-in-law: Janice Ray.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church in rural Kalona. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at Sugar Creek Cemetery in Wayland. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona.
