Russell Prandy

North English- Russell Prandy was born on Jaunary 12, 1941, in North English, Iowa, the son of Tony and Anna (Staggs) Prandy. He graduated from North English High School in 1959. Russell worked as a custodian supervisor at the University of Iowa for 28 years. Over the years he lived around Eastern Iowa, North English, Cedar Rapids, Iowa City and recently in South Carolina. Russell was a member of the North English Christian Church, the Coachman and Good Sam Camping Clubs. He enjoyed working at the visitor’s center at the Coralville Resivoir and traveling every year to Arizona. Russell died on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia, South Carolina, at the age of 85 years.

Russell is survived by his children Donald (Sandra) Prandy of Cedar Rapids, Russell “Rusty” Prandy Jr. of Royse City, Texas, Michael (Stephanie) Prandy of Aiken, South Carolina and John Prandy of Norman, Okalahoma; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; stepchildren Sharon (Kirk) Reeder and Grey (Karen) Hall. He was preceded by his parents; two sisters Doris Davidson and Mary Alice Prandy; two brothers John Prandy and infant Donald Prandy; and his life partner of thirty seven years Mary Hall.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the North English Cemetery. Powell Funeral Home in North English is caring for Russell and his family. Messages and tribute may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
