KEOTA-Seth Richardson passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on January 13, 2023. He died from complications of strokes.
Seth Michael Richardson was born March 17, 1978, in Iowa City, to Randy and Linda (Redlinger) Richardson. He graduated from Keota High School and went on to receive an Associates degree at Muscatine Community College and a BS degree in Animal Science at Northwest Missouri State College. He had been employed by Farmers Coop in Keota until the time of his illness.
Seth is survived by his parents, brother Chris and wife Amy Sara of Ainsworth, sister Jamie Wendt of Des Moines, nephews Wyatt Richardson, Darrin Richardson, nieces Caroline Richardson and Lucille Wendt. He was also survived by his grandmother Bonnie Richardson, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Seth was preceded in death by his grandfather Carol Richardson and grandparents Bernard and Alice Redlinger.
Seth was affectionately called Bubba by his friends. He enjoyed fishing in Canada, deer hunting, playing cards and partying with his friends. He was a quiet, soft spoken person with a kind and generous heart. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.
Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the Roost in Keota. Burial will be at a later date at New Haven Cemetery. Memorial visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home in Keota.
A memorial scholarship for a Keota High School student has been established in Seth’s name. Memorials may be made to the Seth Richardson Memorial Scholarship or Keota Fire Department.
