South English Dateline Shirley Catherine Frazier, age71, of rural South English died of brain cancer on Thursday, November 25, 2004, surrounded by her children. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Sunday, November 28, 2004, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in North English. Burial will be in St. Patrick Little Creek Cemetery near Kinross. Visitation will be at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North English on Saturday, November 27, 2004, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a Vigil Service being held at 7:00 PM. Messages and Tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com under obituaries. Shirley C. Frazier was born on March 13, 1933, in Iowa City, IA, a daughter of Alf and Helen Kinney Wegmuller. She graduated from Oxford High School. On August 16, 1951 she was united in marriage to Lawerence (Larry) Frances Frazier at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oxford, IA. Larry and Shirley farmed in the Oxford area before moving to a farm near South English in 1958. Larry preceded her in death on April 11, 2002. Shirley devoted her life to her husband, raising her children and grandchildren, her faith in God and caring for others in need. Christmas was a special holiday for the family. She made many friends over the course of her 20 plus years as a Tupperware manager and was recognized with numerous sales awards including national district manager. She enjoyed painting and working on her computer. Shirley was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Kinross and St. Joseph Catholic Church, North English. Shirley is survived by her mother Helen Wegmuller of Oxford, IA; five children: Catherine Tanke & husband Kevin of Williamsburg, IA, and their children Kevra & Joe Hawk and Ashlee; Gerry Frazier & his wife Anita of South English, IA, and their children Mitchell & Betsy Frazier, Andrea, Jessen, Nick and Trevor; Jim Frazier & his wife Joan of South English, IA; Mary Husband & her husband Alan of Millersburg, IA, and their children Michael and Heather; and John Frazier & his wife Carolyn of Vinton, IA and their son Alex; Also surviving are sisters Delores Kelly of Las Vegas, NV and Emma Lou Downes of Afton, IA; and a brother Bill Wegmuller of Belen, NM. Shirley was preceded in death by her father Alf, her husband, and an infant daughter Theresa Anne.
