Simon A Weaver

Simon A. Weaver was born September 3, 1951, in Iowa City, the son of Alvin H. and Verna (Miller) Weaver and went to school through the 8th grade. On June 19, 1975, he married Barbara Bontrager in Kalona. He was a faithful member of Sharon Bethel Church. Simon was a farmer along with doing other jobs throughout his lifetime. He loved family history and would spend hours researching ancestry. In his later years he struggled with a lot of health problems. Simon passed away peacefully at Iowa Health Care Downtown Campus in Iowa City after weeks of health battles.

Survivors include two daughters: Mary Beth (Kenneth) Miller of Kalona and Rebecca Ann Weaver of Kalona and six grandchildren: Dustin Miller, Trevor Miller, Christopher Miller, Mariah (Micah) Zook, Wyatt Miller and Layla Jo Miller; a great grandson Greyson Michael Miller. Funeral Service will be 9:30 am Monday, February 23, 2026, at Fairview Mennonite Church rural Kalona. Burial will be at Sharon Bethel Cemetery rural Kalona. Visitation will be 1:00 to 3:00 pm and 5:00 to 7:00 pm Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Fairview Mennonite Church and visitation will be 1:30 to 3:30 pm and 5:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Fairview Mennonite Church.
