Williamsburg- Spencer F. Dursky was born March 3, 1939 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He was the son of Frank W. & Margaret E. (Brown) Dursky. He graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1957. On June 1, 1958, Spencer was united in marriage to Rosalie R. Krusemark in Cedar, Iowa. He worked at the Overall Factory in Oskaloosa, Amana Refrigeration for 11 years and Security Seed. He owned and operated the Family Shoe Store in Williamsburg and was a salesperson for The Vernon Company for over 30 years. Spencer was a member of First Lutheran Church North of Conroy, the Stone Creek Golf Club and The Vernon Company Nine Million Dollar Club. He was a past member of the Williamsburg Lions Club, Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce and the Williamsburg School Board. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, golfing, mushroom hunting, playing cards, and he was an avid Iowa Hawkeye sports fan. Spencer passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Rose Haven Nursing Home, Marengo, at the age of 76 years.
He is survived by his wife Rosalie of Williamsburg; two children: Mark (Karen) of Victor and Mary Ann (Timothy) Gahring of Newnan, GA; six grandchildren: Trevor (Megan) Dursky, Blake (Shayla) Dursky, Lauren Dursky, Anna Dursky, Derek Gahring & special friend Katie, and Courtney (Tony) Ramirez; four great grandchildren: Victory Dursky, Mykal, Abbie & Anna Ramirez; and a brother Stephen ("Dixie") Dursky of San Antonio, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 AM on Monday, March 23, 2015, at First Lutheran Church, Conroy. Pastor Donald Dovre will officiate. Burial will be in the First Lutheran Cemetery, Conroy. Visitation will be on Sunday, from 2:00 - 5:00 PM at the Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg. A general memorial fund has been established.
