Thomas Haddon Potter

Parnell-Thomas Haddon Potter was born December 7, 1959 in Britt, Iowa. The son of William and Velva (Osborn) Potter. He attended West High and graduated from Missouri Military Academy.. He served in the United States Navy. Tom was united in marriage to Melissa Dawn McArtor on September 5, 1987 in Wellman. Tom worked in construction for many years, the last few years he has worked at Whirlpool. He enjoyed camping, fishing and watching his grandchildren in activities. Tom was called the "fixer man" he could fix anything. Tom passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 at his home at the age of 62.

He is survived by his wife Melissa; three children, Travis (Barb) Potter of South English, Rachel (Robert Miller) Pfannkuch of Conroy and Abbie (Mason Hunt) Potter of Zebulon, North Carolina; former son-in-law, Curtis Pfannkuch; three grandchildren, Mya Simmons, Aliyah and Cam Pfannkuch and two brothers, Bruce Potter of Chicago, Illinois and Toby (Joseph Shanahan) Potter of Fountain Hills, Arizona and niece Elowen, an aunt Twila Garside of Adair and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.


Celebration of Life Service will be 6:00 pm on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 pm on Thursday. A memorial general fund has been established. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
