DELTA-Wilmoth "Willie" Herrick, age 88, of Centerville, formerly of Delta, died suddenly Sunday, August 29, 2004, at Maple Grove Assisted Living in Centerville. Willie was born November 20, 1915 in Keokuk County, to Everet and Zola (McKinney) Shultz and graduated from Hedrick High School in 1932. On September 10, 1938 she married Roy D. Herrick in Ottumwa. Willie was a resident of Delta for 62 years before moving to Maple Grove Assisted Living in Centerville in January of 2004. She was a member of the Good Time Club, taught Sunday School and attended Bible study at the Delta United Methodist Church and had done sewing for many people in the area. Willie enjoyed sewing, flowers and gardening. Survivors include one son: Billy Herrick and wife Jackie of Centerville; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and one sister: Wanda Daubenberger of Chandler, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Roy "Bud" in 1999; great grandson: Travis Herrick and one sister: Naomi DeVolt. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2004, at the Reynolds-Powell Funeral Chapel in Sigourney with Vince Homan officiating. Interment will be at Garrett Cemetery in rural Delta. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral chapel Memorials may be directed to the family. Reynolds-Powell Funeral Chapel and Cremation Service is handling the arrangements.
