Zachary Gene Hanson

Zachary Gene Hanson, 41, died Sunday, April 6, 2024, at the University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center Downtown in Iowa City.

Zach was born October 6, 1982, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Charles and Janet (Porter) Hanson. He graduated from Washington High School. On August 23, 2008, Zach was united in marriage to Kellie Dietz. He worked as an anesthesia tech for the University of Iowa Hospital. Zach enjoyed traveling, being outdoors, fishing and eating at different restaurants. He especially enjoyed watching videos of his niece and nephews.

Zach is survived by his brother, Brandon (Molly) Hanson; a niece Emilee Lemaster; two nephews, Linkyn Hanson, Zander Hanson all of Wapello; grandmother, Elzina Miller all of Washington; step father, Chuck Yoder of Iowa City; and family friend Benji Delzell of Tiffin. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Hanson and Janet Yoder; and his wife Kellie Hanson.

A visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona where a time of sharing will be held at 6:00 p.m. A general memorial fund has been established. The Yoder-Powell Funeral Home is caring for Zach and his family. www.powellfuneralhomes.com
