I’m glad we had a chance to “catch up” on all the years since high school at our 40th reunion. Where did all the time go? Shirley was always a “giver.”
...and asked for nothing in return. She was a true friend to those who knew her. Rest In Peace, old friend.

Oh Shirley, it doesn’t seem that long ago we were just young high school girls, full of high hopes and big dreams. But we went down different roads and ended miles apart. Once in awhile you invited me to a class reunion but never was able to attend. But we did have a chance meeting a couple of years ago in DG and we had a good impromptu visit. I’m so glad we had the chance. My condolences to your Dad and siblings.

I once heard another man say that you can best measure a person's love when you're at your lowest. I've been at the depths far more than I've ever come close to the heights & Shirley was always their for me. Always an open ear. She'd make me sit outside so she could smoke a cigarette, but whenever I needed someone to listen, she was there. I wrote a long tribute to her the other day, and I'll say it again, Shirley Stonebraker is best described as the woman that always gave the nothing she had to offer. Maybe she didn't have the time to help you out, but she did anyway. Maybe the loaf of bread is all she could afford, but she'd share it anyway. Maybe the $5 she spent on cat food was $5 that was supposed to go to something for her, the cat ate anyway. That's just the person she was.
