SIGOURNEY-Rick Foust, age 69, of Sigourney, died Saturday, October 24, 2020, at the Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney, after an eight-month determined battle with cancer.
Rick was born on December 7, 1950, in Indianola, to William and Julia (Street) Foust. He attended grade school through Junior High in Delta and graduated from the old Sigourney High School in 1969. He then graduated from Muscatine Community College and went to William Penn for one year. On July 29, 1972, he married Kathy Minks and together they had two children, Sara and Jimmy. Rick worked on industrial construction for several years then took the maintenance supervisor position at Manor House in 1989, where he worked until his retirement in 2013. Retirement was very enjoyable for Rick who loved doing yard and garden work, followed by a beer and cigar on the front porch. He and Kathy traveled in Europe and the United States for hiking and seeing the beauty of the earth.
Survivors include his wife: Kathy of Sigourney; daughter: Sara (Matt) Zimmerman and three grandchildren: Keaton, Zachary and Brody, all of Parnell; sisters: Alice Robertson of Delta and Karen (Steve) Goodman of Rose Hill; nephews: Rudy Votroubek, Hank Foust, Adam Foust and Shawn Goodman and nieces: April Davis, Wendy Fogle, Jackie Wyatt and Kaleigh Robertson. He is preceded in death by his parents, son: Jimmy Foust and brother: Bill Foust.
