Lola Margaret Waterhouse

Lola M. Waterhouse, 88, of Salem, IA, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at Arbor Court in Mt. Pleasant.

Visitation will begin at noon Friday, March 13, 2020 at Olson~Powell Memorial Chapel with family present from 5:00 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2020, at Olson~Powell Memorial Chapel with Joan Rodgers officiating. Born March 23, 1931, in Salem, IA, Lola Margaret was the daughter of William and Alma (Short) Johnston. Her education was in the Salem School District. On April 23, 1952, Lola married Don Waterhouse in Salem, IA. He preceded her in death on April 12, 2010.

Lola was a housewife. Calling friends and talking with people was a highlight of her day. She also spent time walking her dog, Miles, doing word books and picture puzzles, and going out to eat. Lola was a member of Salem Friends Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Mary Ann (Brian Tecca) Gallup; of Mt. Pleasant, IA; one grandson, Richard E. Kerr of Mt. Pleasant, IA; one brother, Dale Johnston of FL; two sisters, Ellen Frank of Mt. Pleasant, and Dorothy (Marvin) Williams of IN; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband, Lola was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Donna Kay Waterhouse; and one sister Ruth Peterson.
