William Stropes

MOUNT PLEASANT - William Boyd Stropes, 83, of Mount Pleasant, died Friday, November 26, 2021, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.

William was born April 13, 1938, in Illinois, the son of Henry and Mildred (Morris) Stropes. He attended Rocky High School in Rock Island, Illinois. On December 9, 1995, he was united in marriage to Linda Hinderliter in New Boston, Illinois. William worked as a diesel mechanic for many years. He was a member of the Faith Christian Outreach Church.

William is survived by his wife Linda; two daughters, Agape-Rose Stropes of Winfield, Charity Lynn Stropes of Salem; three sons, Tim Stropes of Iowa, David Stropes of Monmouth, Illinois, Mark Stropes of Tennessee; sister Tina Mass; three brothers Ed Stropes, Finnis Stropes, Darryl Stropes all of Illinois; and many grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Louise, an infant sister and two brothers Steven and Victor Stropes.

According to William's wishes his body has been cremated and there will be no services at this time. The Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel is caring for William and his family.
